In 2006, ControlPay decided to start up a charity project. With the strong connection that ControlPay has to the country of Ukraine, ControlPay selected this nation for setting up donations. A second reason for choosing this country is that we saw a clear need over there to support orphanages.

In Ukraine there are many children from broken homes, with imprisoned parents, handicapped or ill that are being abandoned by their parents. They find shelter in one of the about 70 orphanages throughout Ukraine. The children stay there until 18 years old or until they are being adopted. About 16 orphanages are so-called medical orphanages where children that are ill, handicapped, with a down syndrome or with HIV virus are being housed under medical supervision. These children have little chance at adoption and therefore also limited chances in life. We have decided to support 2 of these orphanages around Kiev. The children that live here are aged from 6 weeks till 4 years.
